About Multiplayer FlyingPopular flight simulators such as Microsoft Flight Simulator X, Flight Simulator 2004, and X-Plane are able to link up and allow pilots to fly together in a shared virtual airspace. If you already enjoy flying flight simulator but have not used the multiplayer features of the software then you might be missing out. Many flight simulator users fly the majority of their flights in a multiplayer setting. Hovercontrol offers a dedicated multiplayer flight server with special features such as flight hour tracking, pilot statistics, and a more controlled environment where disruptions from disrespectful flyers are limited. This makes for a great place for Hovercontrol members to fly for enjoyment but also as they work with Hovercontrol instructor pilots. In order to use the Hovercontrol multiplayer server users will need to have FSInn client software installed and working properly. Microsoft Flight Simulator X, as well as Flight Simulator 2004, are also able to support multiplayer right out of the box. Either by using a direct connection to another user's flight simulator, or by using the GameSpy multiplayer lobby system (Flight Simulator X only). Flight Simulator X also has the added feature of allowing 2 pilots to share the same cockpit, which takes a little bit of familiarization to get working the first time but is very rewarding once you have experienced it. If you think you would like to join in the multiplayer activities here at Hovercontrol (or anywhere else) It is highly recommend that you get Teamspeak voice software set up on your computer first. By connecting to the Hovercontrol Teamspeak server, you can talk first hand to other members who have already set up the appropriate software, resolved networking problems, and generally can get you going a lot faster! |
